Letter from Peggy

We The People

Dear Friends

“We the People…”  Those are the first three words our Founding Fathers wrote in the Declaration of Independence; and they wrote them in bold script, larger than any other words on that document.  Our Founding Fathers were convinced that WE THE PEOPLE are the strength of this country, and that the power to govern comes from THE PEOPLE.  It does not come down from the government.  It comes up from the people.  WE THE PEOPLE are the foundation of this country and of this state.

That is why I am convinced the solutions for life, for business, for farming, for all of the challenges we face as a society and as a nation are not found primarily in our government.  They are found in THE PEOPLE – that’s you and that’s me –the laborer, the business person, the farmer, the teacher… all of us.

My approach to all issues is guided by three principles:

  1. First: Listen, listen, listen – I want to first hear and to understand your concerns; and to hear your ideas on how we can best resolve them together. I do not have all the answers. I do not need to, because you do!
  2. Second: I firmly believe that more local control and a smaller, more efficient government is healthier for our state and nation.
  3. Third: People come before politics. You are important and I will always put you first.

I am running for office, for Minnesota House 27A, as one of you; one of THE PEOPLE. I have no aspirations for fame, no agendas to push.  I have only a deep desire and determination to help preserve and protect the liberties and freedoms Americans have enjoyed for generations.

My primary reason for running for office is my kids, as I call them.  Having been an elementary teacher in Albert Lea public schools for 33 years, I have taught over 750 students, who now range in age from 6 years old to almost 40.  I am concerned for their future, your future, the future of our state and nation. I am concerned that younger generations will not enjoy the same personal freedoms and financial opportunities that we have had in the past.

That is why I am seeking the endorsement to be the Republican Candidate for MN House 27A.   For more information on my personal and professional background, my political views, and my contact information, see the other sections of my webpage.

I would be honored to serve as the next District 27A representative in the Minnesota House.

God bless you!
